Default Torque Converter Stall Speed

So, what do you guys with upgraded torque converters run? What about those of you boosted guys? I'm thinking of going with a 3200rpm stall since I'm gonna be pushing around 600whp soon. It should help me get going off the line.

I'm running a 3k, but from what I've read, the CEL will come on if you don't already have some kind of fix for it. JPI has my ECU resetting after every powerdown. I'm looking for a better solution if anyone has one.

lol...CEL is just something that I do no worry about. After my standalone goes in, I'll probably have like 20 codes total lol. Another code for torque converter/line pressure isn't gonna bother me

But back to the original question. How does the 3k converter drive? How is the streetability? Do you have to get the motor rpms up before you start moving from a stop?

2800 is standard for us change the TC.
But if you running 600+, maybe you don't need higher stall speed since you will only smoking your tires?
can the tranny hold 600+ HP? so you plan to upgrade the tranny? might as well get a getrag, for similar money.

Excited to see your project comes a long.

I'm running a PI 3200 stall. Its great for everyday driving and also for track. My 60fts went from 2.5-2.6 to 2.0 everytime and that was on my 20's and you know my car is heavy with the music in the trunk aswell. Thats also with out an lsd so I was only boosting off the line at around 5psi and under so I wouldn't sit there and spin one tire.

I can tell you that the 3200 stall is fantastic, I was very worried about this mod but after speaking to the guys at PI they really explained how the 3200 stall works and how its what they always sell for gte automatic setups well at least where they start from depending on the power and how you drive your car. Its great cuz it really starts grabbing at 2600-2800k range until its fully locked at 3200 so you don't lose much comfort around town but man on the freeway's its a dream to drive. So responsive, but again I'm still running US twins so I don't have lag on freeways cuz they are small but I'm sure its still great on single set ups. I know Burton posted he was running a 3400 stall on his gs and his 60fts were something like 1.6-1.8 on drags on stock jdm twins.

Hm...I hope the 3200rpm stall is gonna be good enough for my taste heh. One of my friends has a 4200rpm stall in his supra and it's insane lol. I actually bought the TC from Lextreme. They rebuild the factory torque converters to hold a lot more power and increase stall. They're running a special right now. Let's just say it's costing me 1/3 the price of a PI Dragon.

the 3k is pretty fun to drive. I think with the boost you're running, you're better off running 3k or 3200...can I have a ride?
