Has anyone hosed down there engines on a GS4?

yeah! that is a big difference. i allways say keep it slean and it will stay clean. i detail out my lex about once every 2 or 3 months. that includes wash, wax, leather cond, eng bay, whole 9 yards. i use a light degreaser and just water, then blow off everything with compressed air. spray that formula 2000 all over go and blow everything off again and wipe off the excess with a towel. shut the hood and finish the rest of the car. takes me about 30min to detail the motor cause once you do it the first time you can just rince the motor off between full detailings and its good to go!!

Both. I dont have an air compressor, and i dont want to take any risk. I'm sure it can be done but I rather not.
After I use a towel to wipe the surface, I mist the engine bay with water. Then I use my blower (vacuum in reverse) to blow any water in the corner. I get and engine bay that looks basically new, but without hosing my engine. Then again, being a detailing for awhile, you just get use to it

I took my engine cover off and sprayed all the nasty stuff with engine degreaser. I leave it on for 15 minutes and then hose it down making sure to avoid anything electrical. Then I let my car idle for another 15-20 minutes until no more steam comes out. I finish the parts I can't reach with a towel. I was afraid at first but it worked out fine.

Crispy did you have any problems after you cleaned yours? Mine went into limp mode about 10 minutes after. Waited a few and it was brand new again. I tell ya she is wierd but I still love her. I guess that is how life works for us.

I prolly did get air in there. She is driving fine now just right after she was pissed. I notice I get that limp mode when it is raining and I drive through a monster puddle. Or right after I have done so. Other than that she never falls limp on me. i might clean my MAF tonight.
