What is with all these body shop (HACKS) leaving everything on the car why they get it ready for paint

yes! the wheels are getting resprayed. they left them on the car through the paint process so there wouldn't be any issues if they had before

why did they mask off the headlamps, door handles, and other chrome trims?

Won't the paint peel from those edges?

I'm concerned a bit about this as well. I noticed they left the side markers,
chrome stripe (that goes all around the car) and the trunk bar on. And they
left the bumpers installed! Not how I would have done it, but I suspect this
isn't an $8000+ paint job, so... (I spent almost $2000 just on the paint
material alone!!)

Looking good... can't wait to see her all back together!

I noticed to some, price is better than quality. With paint, you get what you pay for. I wouldve opted to take my bumpers and headlights off myself if the shop wouldn't do it. Our shop even removes the bumpers for collision jobs as well...not just custom...that's the right way of doing things
