So are they on the market now? And what about the placement of the resistor. Part of the problem was that they would create alot of heat. Also, like you mention above, "Yes the resistors pretty much negate the advantages of the LEDs. Stupid Ohm's Law"

And yeah if you really want to reap the benefits of LEDs the best thing to do would be to toss out the resistors and just remove the dash bulb.

Yeah I believe they are on the market now. Only way to find is to have people buy new sets and see if they have them. Yes it generates a lot of heat.
There is enough wire so that you can mount the box to the inside part of the trunk cavity.

I will stick to my current SONAR LED Tails set up, Thanks!
Btw, this topic has already been discussed prior. Did you talk to Glen about this at all or tried the search feature. Pretty much the same outcome. That is why I just pulled the bulb for the bulb warning in the dash. Its been like that for about 2 years now.
Also, I don't see any heat sinks on the resistor assembly and not much wire, according to the pic you posted.

The wire is wrapped around and taped up in that picture. That was taken right after I removed it from the shrink wrap. The wire is a lot longer when unravelled. That black square you see "acts" as the heat sink.

That's not much of a heat sink.
Another thing to consider here is that even though it doesn't not make the light come on in the dash. You still do not have full functionality of the bulb warning system. For example, It will not tell you if one of the LEDs died.

Yeah that is another good point. I'm not advocating this as a first-class solution, but pointing out that one is there nonetheless.
