I love the timeless style of the 2gs! (obviously since Ive owned two since 2001) It fits right in with all the new bimmers and mercedes imo and still nothing looks quite like it. It was way ahead of its time in 98 when it made its debut. Just make sure you go with the v8! 
On the other hand my pops has an 03 ls430 and its significantly nicer. Its a dream on the highway and still powerful in a silky smooth kinda way around town. My gs430 is neither now and I really dont even remember what it was like to drive when i first got it cause its been so long since ive had a stock gs. But it sure is more fun to drive than the ls.
I just dont know which lex I would choose. It would all depend on the mood I was in when it came time to purchase. Thats a tough one!
It really all depends on what type of driving you do most and how far. You really cant go wrong with either.
