Default Steering column..HELP

wassup everyone,
i just got my oil changed and my job told me i have to replace my steering column or something with the steering. I was hearing a thud noise and feeling it on the brake pedal when i would turn the wheel fast back and forth to the left. Any idea on how much u think it will cost part wise? i will find out the exact problem tomorrow and they will give me an estimate but ima ask you guys if u think i can get it cheaper

That is interesting. I would suspect the balljoints first. Maybe the steering knuckle?

That does not sound right that you need a new steering column

yeah i was diagnose with the same problem, and i have the same symptoms, however I feel that the steering is fine and i highly doubt its the steering rack. I was actually diagnosed with a bad steering rack, but its still too expensive to replace something that I honestly think is fine because my car is very responsive in its steering and I havent even installed the daizen bushings i got for the arms, rack and sway yet. nor have I replaced my bjs or tie rod ends. ill see after i replace those.

check the rubber bushing steerings... they might need to be replaced.
