My 2000 GS400 usually gets 20.3 to 21.9 in the city. This is the reading on my Nav trip info screen and I've confirmed it with my gas receipts.

After just driving mine (gs4) back from missouri (about a 10 hour drive) all highway and using cruise most of the time i averaged 26.5 for the first 3/4 of the trip and 27.1 for the last 1/4 after refueling. This was taken off the nav trip computer.

Yes, I was, I used cruise almost the entire time and didn't accelerate hard. It ended up taking about 1 and 1/3 tanks of gas for the 600 mile trip.

If you remove the extra weights in the trunk, that would help too!

Yeah, I get about 21 mpg. I drive 1/2 city and 1/2 highway so that is why. If I drove all highway, about 23 if it was all city, about 18-19 mpg.

I don't have anything extra in the car. Less weight = more mpg.

So after reading about 7 pages of you guys giving gas MPG, i've noticed the GS4 and 3 get about the same MPG at cruising speeds (70-75) on the highway, interesting.

My mileage went up to 14.5mpg!

For some reason, my mileage increase each time I refuel my tank. Hrmmm..Maybe its the weight I lost

If anyone thinks they should be getting better gas mileage, check the air filter first. I just replaced mine and went from 14.2 MPG to 16.3 MPG on my commutes, which are 90% city and 10% highway.

do you guys have the spare tire in the car?

also would the stock spoiler affect the MPG much especially on highways with the drag??

hey guys

i picked up a GS300 a few weeks a go.
2000 GS300
I got about 24 MPG city/highway

I think the tires really matter the most with MPG.
I am using the mx4vplus tires.

im am happy that i am getting that much in a sedan.
my friends told me they were getting less then 20 in a sc300 and is300.

I seem to only be able to manage around 15-16mpg with my 90% city driving... maybe its the heavy right foot Since the plugs in my car are unknown, im gunna be changing them out to NGK iridiums shortly.. and clean my throttle body... maybe that will help slightly...

I just got my 02 430 over the weekend. It seems I'm getting about 17-18.

My 98 300 didnt seem to get much better, but I had a 4 banger honda in the meantime and I could make that thing stretch ...

UPDATE -- went from 14.2 to 16.3 and now I am currently on 16.8 MPG with 90% city. Pretty close to the Manufacture estimate of 17/21.

When I did 60% city and 40% highway last week, I averaged 18.5

I drive 95% highway for now and putting 51 miles each way to commute to work. I fill up my tank usually on Fridays and the Wednesday of the following week.
