I couldn't get over 21 if i tried, but i don't try. I can't not drive this power factory and not drive 80+ mph, i seriously get on the highway.. look down and make sure i'm not going over 90. Needless to say anyone who comes by me, i can't help but challenge them and say... how they like my tail lights.. By the way my GS430 shifts into 5th gear with the pedal floored at 155mph!! and i still got 17 mpg on average when i filled up... i love it!

So with all this talk on the other subforums about more fuel efficient cars and my own desire to have something that is more fuel efficient, I tried to maximize my fuel efficiency in my 1998 GS3.
My goal was to accelerate smoothly while keeping the revs as low as possible and out of 334 miles, I only revved the engine above 3200 RPMS once and that was to slip through a couple of lanes on a highway transition.
The resulting MPG: 22.
I wish I had a GS4.

This was mixed driving but my car has some mods that would affect the mpg.
18x8.5 / 18x9.5 wheels, a rather large box in the trunk that holds a jl 13w7.
What's crazy is that a local CL member has a first gen GS with a GTE engine swap and he gets 20 mpg consistently with occasional bursts of speed.
