Needless to say anyone who comes by me, i can't help but challenge them and say... how they like my tail lights.. By the way my GS430 shifts into 5th gear with the pedal floored at 155mph!! and i still got 17 mpg on average when i filled up... i love it!
You get 17 mpg while doing all that in a 430 ?? I barely get 15 mpg and I don't drive THAT agressive, but I guess it has to do with the fact that Im likw 95% city driving, sometimes it's 100% city

Ok so I took a trip down to Key West this weekend and got 391 miles on the tank !! I was so excited and after I filled up today I calculated 23.255 mpg on the whole trip which was 95% highway 5% city driving (all the streets in the Keys are like Highways, barely any traffice lights). As you can imagine I'm super excited since my best mpg average EVER here in the city has been like 15-16 mpg ... Now if i could only figure out a way to get 23 mpg in the city ...

Getting 17-18mpg ATM, 60mi highway @ 75-90mph/20mi street @ 0-45mph in traffic, with 100-120min of just idling. Combination of snow mode and power mode (passing on hwy)

Looks like I'm going to have to check where my ride stands with mpg. I'll report it by next week.

Default 412 Miles Running BP Only 92/93

I just went to Birmingham last weekend (too see the AMA races) and set the cruise at 80/85 and did some normal commuting which is about 80/85 mph. You know I was pushing it, but I knew I could get over 400 a tank, plus I saw 400 before. . Plus my K&N wasn't too dirty.

Wow that's awesome !!

On my trip to Orlando I averaged about 85 - 90 cruise controlled on the highway and got about 22 mpg. This was on a 500 mile roundtrip ...

Jack

I normally get about between 16 to 18 mpg, dependent on how aggressively I drive. My commute is 10 minutes long and consists of a 2.4 mile highway burst and a couple miles of city driving. On average, I will fill up my gas tank about every 2 weeks are so...

The best mileage I have gotten was a week of travel which consisted more highway than city driving. That week I got about 22 mpg but, I ended up filling a lot sooner.

I am sure those hypermilers wouldn't be impressed but, then again I don't have to drive like a complete donkey; burning my follow commuters by driving way to slow on the highway, dangerously drafting semi trucks or performing 50 mile hour death rolls all while sweating my ***** off.

Perhaps, if they knew the overall impact, they had on everyone's gas mileage and the inherit higher maintenance cost associated with driving so erratically maybe they would drive more like considerate human beings.

If anybody lives in the Milwaukee area please break check that Honda driving fu)kt@rd Wayne for me.

Wow, that story is pretty awesome! But that's going crazy overboard though. But impressive. The only thing dangerous he's doing is cornering at high speeds.

But I guess if you live in the boonies where there's very little traffic, it's not as dangerous as doing it somewhere in CA or NY

yeah during my daily evening commute yesterday i thought about possibly attempting this but then i realized that it is nearly impossible if you live in an area where your not the only car on the road... i live in between 2 major cities: dc & baltimore and this style of driving would not be possible... dudes honda mpg would drop from his recorded 59mpg to around 19 mpg like the rest of us if he drove where i drive.

New updates.

Getting 21mpg in town as of now with 75mph on in-town highways, speed limits+5 on local roads.

Did a 1800 mile road trip, as well, and on the first portion (700mi), averaged 75mph (or 65-85mph) (with stops) After tallying up the reciepts, it came out to 28.2mpg

2nd portion was some in-town driving in El Paso, and surrounding areas, about 200mi, about 3/4ths of that highway @ 65-70, came out to 25.2mpg (Gas in El Paso is oxygenated for "environmental reasons", so i assume that means ethanol.)

The 3rd portion of the trip was 900mi back through various mountain backroads (with 5000ft gain in altitude, and 2000 in loss, thereafter.), and later, plains (extremely flat, but coming back down in altitude.)

The first 400mi of that 900mi was through mountainous/desert terrain. and came out to 27.4mpg with speeds ranging from 40mph-80mph.

The second 500mi of the 900mi was through plains, and averaged 71mph (there was a town about every 35mi), but cruise set at 74mph. That jaunt averaged 29.1mpg.

Total was just about 64.6gal for those 1800mi, and the average was 27.9mpg.

So far the GS4 has proven itself as a great V8 highway cruiser, and i'd love to see what it could do with some (even) taller gearing, or rear end like a 2.93 or even a 2.73
