Wow, I must baby my car more than I thought.. I just bought it a month ago, and love it! So far I have been getting 22-23 mpg in 'mixed' driving (though I live in a very rural area without a lot of traffic and stop lights), and 27-28mpg on the interstate (cruising around 70mph). I don't romp on it everywhere I go, but I do go WOT occasionally. I run Mobil 1 5W-30 and have the stock 16" wheels. I'm amazed that this car only gets about 1-2 mpg less than my Talon does.

XYZ, I think you're one of the first person that I've heard putting in 87 into the GS. Does it ping under hard acceleration?

Okay, but what is your 93 going for per gallon there in NYC? Out here the 91 goes from $2.29 to $2.49/gal which I believe is more than over there. For that matter more than all other 49 states. Oh, and don't even talk about housing, we have the dubious distinction for the highest, most outrageous prices here ($500k for an average starter home). See, if we didn't have to spend so much on mortgage/rent we could spend it better on mods and more cars. Dang, the upcoming new generation GS sounds sweet on paper.

Now this is Off Topic in response to your off topic comment about housing cost: Housing is crazy in NYC too. I live in a house that is 20ft x 35ft. Two stories, no garage. It is worth over $600k
And to top it off, my house was built in the early 1900s. I think it was built around 1908 or something like that. So for a 2 story house that is 20 x 35 that is almost 100 years old to cost over 1/2 million dollars is almost unbelievable.
