18 MPG driving in my 98 GS4 driving mostly in the suburbs

Not complaining, since my other car (96 Camry V6) gets about 16 MPG

I have a '00 GS 400 - I get 20mpg on average in the city
on the highway i don't know since i don't drive on the highway too often

the pwr button and usin' the e-shift gets the mileage up (not sure if it'll work for everyone but it does for me)

my last 2 tanks I got 21.75 and 21.5 mpg. This car is faster than my Q45 and is 2 mpg better. On the other side it does ride a little rougher.

I've been going to downtown on business for the past week. Decided to reset the computer, and I'm getting 14.1 MPG with an average speed of 27 MPH since Monday

Yes I thought the same. But from what Ive read, I don't think the saving are that great .. at all. Kinda wish I would have considered a V-8. But the I-6 has lots of mod potential and a great motor besides.

yeah talk about potential the gs3 is probably more flexible, but thinking from a gas mileage point of view, it's soooo wrong to think you are going to save anything with the i6

The potential iof the I6 s limited here in CA due to smog requirements. I don't think the I6 gets more then 2 or 3 mpg more then the V8. But I could be wrong.

per ads, the gs3 is 18 24, and the gs4 is 18 23

and smog? come on now, if you wanna do anything serious to the car, you forget about smog already. first thing you do is find a way to get away with smog.

heck, even an intake on the GS (3 or 4) will make it smog illegal already

My K&N FIPK intake and L-Tuned exhausts are both CARB approved. Not that it matters to me!

Ads don't mean a whole lot to me as far as mpg. Only real world experiences. An intake can be removed easily and put back to stock. Try that with a turbo or supercharger. I guess I am too practical because I know that to do anything serious it's got to be a package. Dropping in a supercharger or turbo without the corresponding suspension and brake work and tuning won't work.(now we're talking how much)

BTW, I have a CAI and ecu upgrades on my mini cooper so it's illegal smog wise...Next, reduction pulley.

well, that's real world experience too. i have is3, gs4, and sc430. they all eat gas the same way, pretty much i get gas every week driving them

i can see what you mean by putting turbo and stuff on the car and make it smog illegal though. but with some tweakings (lmw and another shop is working on this), they will pass smog. you just need to go to a place that will just run smog without looking under the hood
