Since I posted in this thread a long time back my foot has gotten a little heavier, and I do more like 80% city driving now. Still my worst milage to date is a hair over 20mpg. I guess I average about 21-21.5 now days. On the highway I get around 24-25 usually.

Either you don't mean full tank literally or you're getting just over 11.5MPG, which is terrible and unless all you do is race your car day in and day out, you probably have something wrong with your fuel system to be getting milage that bad. Per tank doesn't really do justice usually, though... fill up then watch your miles, then fill up again and divide those miles into your trip meter.

Default Does this sound right?

I like to gas it here and there, but I don't drive like an idiot, and I'm getting about 16-17 mpg. that's all driving around town, average speeds about 30-50mph.

Does this sound right?

to me that's about right, but that's with 19s or 20s though. with stock wheels i suppose you should have better?

I dont know why im getting such low miles.. My car is a 01 and 430.. how many gallons per tank?
I do a lot of local driving... but yeh with a full tank i get like 220-230 before the low gas light comes on.
I dont even drive the car that hard.
is there a way for me to improve the gas milage?
please help
thanks

if you do all city driving, maybe....? i have tc and lsd, and also 20s, they are all bad for gas mileage, and with mostly local driving i get about 250 miles before it kits the 1/4 tank mark. that still seems to be better gas mileage than you though, maybe you should drive even less aggressive? i don't know, i find getting the car from dead stop is the most gas wasting time.

btw, the tank is 19 gallons

You can't judge your mileage just by looking at when the low gas light comes on - that's not the bottom of the tank by far, there's still 3-4 gallons left. You need to reset your trip odometer when you fill the tank all the way up to the top, then use up most of the tank and fill it all the way to the top again. Note exactly how many gallons are added. Divide what's on your trip odometer at that point by that number of gallons. That will be your average mileage for that tankfull.

I'm getting about 19.5 MPG average using 93 octane only. But that's with fat 19"s on, so if I correct 4% for tire diameter, I'm getting about 20.25 MPG. And that's with SRT intake. 80% highway though.

Last week on a total tank full i got around 320miles on the tank... I think i could have gotten more if i wasn't flooring it... that was with 93 octane also... I'm very surprised and impressed with these v8 engines on the gas milage.. They do extremly well.. My V8 mustang only got around 250... I'm very happy with the Lex

Your Lex also has just a hair under a 20 gallon tank. Your stang was a couple gallons less, at least.

My 2000 gs3 averages 23.79 mpg on highways. So far i am averaging 427 miles per tank and in between fill ups. I am the type of guy to drive until the needle wants to break off!

Well, with the gas price going up. I have slowed down considerabily. My average use to be 17-18mpg now I am getting 20-22. It's easy if you are willing to put up with the honking horns and blinking lights. And that's from the people in the far left (slow) lane. But I am averaging between 55-65mph on the highway. Boy, nothing like getting flipped off by grandma in a toyota corolla.
