Default What is my best choice for Lowering Springs (Handling wise)

Hi,
I have 18" L-tuned wheels, and I want to know what is my best choice for lowering springs to use in my 2001 GS300 ...mostly what I have in mind is handling ! I'm going to use them with a set of L-tuned shoks I have......Should I go for L-tuned springs, or bilstein, TRD, or one of those other brands and a drop between 1.2-2.2 max ....(no Coil-overs please)

I need recomendatins guys...Please.

Thanks.

Talal

Talal,

most of big name brands springs would have similar performance level and quality. if you ~1.2" stay with l-tuned or eibach. if you want more HR is readily available.

if you can get access to japanese brands, their average drop is ~1.5"-2"...any of the well known brand name will match the l-tuned shocsk nicely on the performance level...

tALA,

Will is right if you want a greater drop than 1.5 inches then you should go with a Japanese spring. I have a set of BLitz springs forsale that will give you the look your looking for...over 2inch drop. Look in the classifides they are listed there.

M5 handling? L-tuned suspension is definitely not enough

You need:
TEIN RA Springs & Shocks combination
TRD strut bar
TRD front lower brace bar
TRD anti sway bars
Tom's 6-piece suspension brace kit and rear LCB
TRD LSD

These would give you equal or better handling than M5

Why not simply go with the LTuned springs. They're really Eibach's and would compliment your LTuned shocks.

I have this very set up on my '99 GS400 and it greatly improves handling but not at the expense of ride (it's not like a go cart). Anything more than 1 to 1.5 inches is going to impact the way you manuver around/over ruts, speed bumps and drive ways. Also beware of parking lot tire bumpers (they tend to play havoc with our chin spoiler).

Hope this helps.

with such a mild spring like L-Tuned, there is NO WAY to get the look of that GS w/o cutting the springs....and as MGS4 posted, you'll need more than just springs to give you M5-like handling...any why wouldn't you go the coilover route? It's the best route to go...you're not going to get M5 handling on a student's budget...
