I am so pissed off.... I was on the way home RT 46 for those who knows where it is, and while changing the lanes BAM.... ran over a pothole Front rim cracked on the inside and so did the rear one!!!! SOB!!!! All I got to say is, these rims are cheap a.. POS wheels. Anyone think I could go after the town for the damages?

245/35/19 front, and 275/30/19 rear about 36psi warm.

I had all type of wheels, and never had this happen. I had VOLK wheels with 285/30s rear on my supra and ran over potholes many times, and never ever bent or cracked the rims. Point is, spend more money and get a good wheel!

Whom would I contact in the city? I think they will simply try to blow me off and tell me its not their problem, it is worth a try however. Tires had around 36 psi in them, shouldnt the tire blow instead of the rim? Maybe its a good thing that the tire didnt explode since its more $ then the rim itself... LOL

I had an issue when i lived in NJ with some holes in the road on an off ramp and it scraped my wheels real bad and tore rubber off my tires. called the city and they patched me through to the right department. I went back after i got off the phone and took pics. The next day the city was out fixing the holes. They eventually cut me a check after i showed them pics of the holes and of my tires and wheels and I told them I had witnesses. They cut me a check for 2 new wheels and 2 new tires. they said that I was under their budget for damage before they fight back and go to claims court for damages. Something like that, it was a long long time ago. 2000 or 2001 maybe City of Paramus, NJ.

This was in CLIFTON on RT46 right where it meets RT21. I will call the city tomorrow and raise hell! I also will take pictures first thing in the morning. Im am so mad because I just got these rims and it was a PITA from the very start. Will keep everyone posted. Do you remember what department you spoke to?

I had a similar situation with my old bimmer but I went after the construction company because they had left equipment laying to close to the road and scratched my fender.

I drove straight to the on-site office and *****ed them out and they wrote me a check for 500 bucks the next day.
But my radiator blew out the same night!!
