yo whats up guys i was just thinking of adding the newer GS front Seats into my 02 GS but i have a few questions. first off does anyone know where i can get a pair ? and second whats the opinon on fitment ? has anyone done a swap like this yet ? I work at the local lexus dealer near my house and i cant come up on these seats at all i've tried... any input from u guys will be appreciated
I think it's an interesting idea. Since you work at a dealer, measure the bolt points and see if they match up. I don't know if the memory seats would still work....
people who went from 2gs to 3gs think 2gs seats are better. just keep it.
absolutely not the case for me. i don't find the 2gs seats that impressive at all. always gave me back pain. 3gs seats have more support for me. they also have much better lateral support than the 2gs seats

Yup. The lack of thigh support and cardboard-like cushion is a killer combo. I'm short already, so me thinks Toyota designed the seats with a midget in mind.
no he has it right. there's a thread in the 3GS section about how a new 3GS owner thinks they have poorly built seats.
well there are people on both sides. some say that the 3gs seats are poor, stiff, etc... me and some other people don't really care about the 2gs seats and think the 3gs seats are far better in terms of support.
it's a compromise. the 2gs seats are plain, has very little support, especially on a sport sedan. the 3gs seats are more supportive but stiff for some, but this is a sport sedan so...
it's personal preference afterall. but put things into perspective, i had no love for the ls430 seats as well, but our ls460l seats are far better in terms of support as well, and i also like our ls460l seats more than the 2gs seats, even on support

coco-bun has it right.
i sat in the front seat of a 3gs once. The leather felt very stiff compared to my 2gs. The lap support seems to be about the same as 2gs (too short), but anyways, you'll need the 3gs seat rails and most likely retrofit it into your 2gs. Connector harness should be different as well so you'll need to retrofit that.

I see what you mean. Usually when people talk about Lexus seats they refer to the quality and comfort, not the support that it gives when you push the car.
i always thought the lan evo recaro's are really nice, too bad it won't look right without some other changes in our interior.

not necessarily. if you can source some Lancer EVO MR edition seats, it wouuld fit perfectly with black interior. now that would be very very nice. its pretty much the seats above with suede/alacantra down the center and leather on the outer trimmings.
is that your car? holy crap i need to check them out at the next meet
