Default Is it Possible to Install Factory Nav???

I got a 99 gs 300, came without a Nav, my question is is it possible to install the factory nav on it or would it be more wise to install an aftermarket Navigation system on it, and what brand/model should i get

search "Avic D3" i believe its the most popular among us gs owners....very nice unit, simple to install. theres an instruction guide in here too. May also try looking at Eclipse models.

Letsride did it but its a huge PITA....I'd go with aftermarket. Technically we were told it couldn't be done but he did it.

aftermarket installation would be much easier.... and also.. expandability would be much better too... not to mention map disc support.

if you get a plain looking HU, like the eclipse, you can very well play it off for stock.

eclipse AVN double din with jdm aristo double din kit... it matches the interior trim..

contact Luis from Carson Toyota (l-tunedparts.com). It is on the website. Don't forget to use the club lexus coupon code. I forget what is the code, but with a search, you will find it with ease.

Goose: doing oem NAV retrofit is possible, but its costly and PITA. I would go with an aftermarket unit. I used to have the Eclipse AVN6610. With this unit the screen resolution is 100x better the OEM. You'll have the most updated NAV map that will look exactly like the newer lexus nav. Eclipse is made by Fujitsu Ten in Japan. In fact i know fujitsu ten makes the units for the Lexus OEM NAV, they just renamed it to DENSO. With this unit you have NAV/DVD player all in one Also you can add a backup camera, side view camera, bluetooth, XM/Sirius radio. Lot cheaper and you get the most out of it. Do a google search on AVN6610 and you'll see what i mean.
