Default My GS Search Begins in 08

I have been browsing the forum behind the scenes for a few months now and just wanted to take a second to say HI. I have decided to get rid of my SC400 and step up to a GS and finally own a car with more than two doors for the first time in my life (32 years old and 11 cars later) I love the looks of the GS and the 2nd gen should fit into my price range while leaving room for some mods. Speed is not a huge priority since I have some other toys that cover that, but still want the 400 or 430. I know there is actually more potential with the 300 if you boost it, but one forced inductioned car is enough for me.

I have read the 400 vs 430 comparison so I have a good idea of the differences so right now I am leaning towards the 430 if I can get the price right. Any other "owner experiences" would be appreciated if I should be on the look-out for something specific between the two models.

Mod plans are staggered 20's, stereo, coilovers, and bodykit (later down the road).

Here is a pic of my SC that I will be selling. She has been a great car for almost three years, but time to try and convince my wife I am growing up

I have had Ol' Yellar for 7+ years now and every time I decide to sell it, I wuss out. She has been the best weekend toy I could have ever hoped to own. I know there are a lot of Supra fans in the house, but this has always been my dream car ever since I saw an AWD car launch back in the early 90's. Besides a reliable 400+ HP, AWD, AWS, Active Areo, and the fact there was only 42 total 95 VR-4's in this color makes it hard to replace.

I think the GS will round out your stable pretty nicely. I remember when the roadster version of the 3000GT was introduced, it was like 60k!!

I like the Camaro also but I'm biased as I had a 68 RS with a 327 and a 4 spd. I would say the biggest diff between the Camaro and my 430 is at 100+ in the Camaro you know you're moving and hope you don't have to stop or turn before planned while the 430 is like I know I can go even faster as it is a tad smoother and safer. I would go for a 430 over a 400 as I don't mod until something is worn out and the nav is a little newer.

I have only seen one LEGIT Yenko in my lifetime and it was $$$$$$$$$$$$. Those cars fetch a ridiculous price.

Mine stickered for a shade over $50k new which is crazy. However, these cars were way ahead of their times (all jap semi-exotics) as they are just now coming up with cars that turn in better numbers. The Spyders downfall is that it was hard to pay Porsche money for a Mitsubishi.

67-69 Camaro is my all time favorite muscle car. Here is Big Red (yes, I nickname all my cars) in all her glory. Red on red from the factory with a 396 with some supporting goodies. And yes, when you are over a 100 mph, the heavy chevy has no idea what the word "turn" means
