I've tried to park to newer, nicer cars but still end up with dings. Some people just don't know how to control their muscles.

3 things in life are inevitable; death, taxes, and door dings.

I try to park way off in the cuts (far back of a big lot where no one else is) And then take up two spots. Sometimes i take up two spots just for the hell of it. At work today, i almost got my car to cover three spots. If theres still a lot of ***** left, who cares. Anyone that would key a car for that reason is a ****. I also if i have to park between two cars i always estimate the length of the neighboring doors, and if they would be able to make contact with my car at full extension, its not all good. Sometimes i wish i just had a beater to drive as a second car that i didnt have to care about.

I will avoid parking next to pick up trucks, SUVs and Minivans. The worst is to park in between two SUVs. I rather circle around the parking lot until i find a good spot.

IMO, you just have to park as far as possible. Even though I do that, someone manages to park right next to me. That or park on the driver side of a really nice car. GL w/ that!

i've always wanted to take up two spots in tight underground but buy tickets for both spots haha, I still think it would get keyed though :P

door dings vs key marks, i can't win either way. i always back into a spot out in the open but riced out preludes find my car and back in beside it.

Never park to a SUV and never park next to a coupe.

Try to park at the end of the row so you can park as close to the curb as possible. I've gotten so good at this that I can get to within a few mm of the curb.

In the end you can't prevent dings completely. You can only do things that'll lessen the chance and hope they work.

I think we're natural magnets for idiots. I have this same thing going on. I'll pull into Starbuck's at 5:30am and park at the end of the row. When I exit the store, almost always, there's someone parked next to me with the remainder of the slots empty.

Go figure!

Here's the solution. Park in between a Porsche and a BMW or Mercedes. Avoid door dings without fail.

The reason people park next to you when you park a mile and a half away from wherever you're going is because the person is trying to park next to a nice car.

You know what, I think I would use it but only when I park in the garage in my apartment complex.

Works for me on weekends at work. I pull up next to a brand new RX, back in and know that, without a doubt, I'm covered, at least on one side.
