First of all, Welcome to CL ...

Now, if both cars are in the same good condition and the prices are really close then I'd say go for the one with less miles ... But, it's up to you to decide which color you want cuz that's something really important when deciding on a car ... Unless you like both colors and don't mind which one you get ... I would personally go for the black one because I love this car in black, but hey just weigh your options and make a choice, I guarantee you'll be satisfied with whichever one you choose, good luck

I'll go with the '98 less miles, silver is a great color, and come on how good of a condition can the black paint be after 9 yrs

I'd say go for the car w/ less miles. The car is beautiful in any color!

Less miles but also check if the car has all of it's maintaince documents. I would get the higher mile one if their was documents with the car showing it had all of it's routine maintainence done vs one that did not.

Regarless, from a recent owner of a 98 GS4, the car is amazing!!! You can not go wrong with a GS!! Wish I would have found out about these cars sooner!!

I say go with the car with the more mileage. This way, you KNOW the car is up to date, and all you need to worry about is the oil change

I would buy the car that is has the best inspection results. If they are both equal, then I would buy the car that is the best documented. run a Carfax report as well before you buy.

either one will be a great purchase. these motors are pretty much bulleproof if they were taken care of. just do more research, records help a lot and cleean car faxes help a lot too. also go drive the cars, see how each one feels. there are many things you can look for when looking for a car we also have numerous threads on common problems with the 2gs.
