Default Problem with Aristo TT

since a few days ago i noticed my aristo TT starts in the mornings without any issues but throughout the day it wont start i have to try like 4-5 five times and have to press the gas pedal while trying to start it b4 it starts, then when it actually starts it has a rough idle for about a minute or two then it goes back to normal. I would really appreciate any help with this issue as the car is in Jamaica W.I. where good mechanics are VERY hard to find.

Possibly dirty injectors or bad spark plugs? Is the check engine light on? It's possible a hose or cable popped off.

I think it might be bad plugs as well, also the reason why it idles so poorly right after you finally get it to start is simple- since your are pushing the gas while trying to start it you are flooding the motor...

I don't think you're supposed to gas it while you are trying to start the engine on a fuel injected car. I used to do that for my carburated Jeep but not any other of my other FI cars.

Might just be some dirty plugs or they are getting fouled up if your running to rich or like they flooding the motor, I t happen to me My idle was a little ruff and it would foul uip my plugs until we retuned with a better idle, what are you using to Tune your car?

I would check the coolant temp sensor. The car adds more fuel when it is cold. If the car thought it was cold all the time it would start up fine when it was cold, but would flud if the engine was already warm.

Hope that makes sense.

i had a similar problem a while back on my Aristo TT where it wouldn't hold idle properly and would just die. It turned out to be a dirty fast idle sensor in the TB. Went and had it cleaned and the problem went away. Apparently it happens a lot on Toyotas here because of the bad air.

Good luck!

I was having the same issue (I have a Grey Market aristo TT engine) right after a major tune up and in my case it turn out to be a badly gapped spark plug it can also be the air mass sensor but in that case the CEL would light up (if wired correctly)
