if you strictly speaking of 2GS, look for a 430. mileage is comparable to the 300 and you get more power. hey, u can even get the 430 for yourself and give your wife the 400!

Driving aroud town, the 2GS3 and 2GS4 feels similar. I have a 2GS3 and have driven a 2GS4 a number of times. The feel at the low end is not too much different in surface streets. The GS3 gearing is such that it responds pretty well, despite the "lower" HP/TQ numbers. To me, it can use a bit more power but it is not that bad.

With that said, I have no illusion of out running a GS4.

300 and the 400/430 gets the same gas mileage. if you're not planning to go FI, get the v8. maintenance is about the same.

e-shift makes a big difference in spirited driving in the twists as well.

this is true, when test driving both in town they felt pretty close, but for passing power on the highway, the 300 definitely felt like it ran out of steam far too quick (on a 60-100 launch)
