Don't do it man...once you start you can't stop!

One CL member said to me that if I wasn't careful, my whole car would end up black...

The color is actually Nighthawk Black, which looks black in the shade
but is actually a midnight blue (to which we added blue pearl flakes)

I don't think it looks "Scionish" at all. Mercedes was doing it before Scion.
At that, the early NSXs had black roofs in '91...

It would be really subtle on a darker colored car.

Mine is more obvious in person (on the Spectra Blue); I've never been able
to capture it that well on camera.

On a dark car, I'd even consider contrasting it with a lighter color,
like charcoal or silver. I almost did mine light metallic blue (silver-blue)
to sort of go with the blue window tint.

yeah gloss black was the simple route...if I had to do it again, I would probably look into mixing some other shade into it or adding some flakes. You have millennium silver which has a bit of a goldish tone to it compared to the alpine silver but I don't think you can go wrong with gloss black. I had contemplated doing the roof spoiler in black as well, but I went for contrast rather than subtleness. I think it can work either way...really just depends on how you want to present it.

I'm definitely liking what bob did with the midnight blue on spectra blue and correct me if I'm wrong but I think bluelex did something similar on his car.

Its a big commitment so I'm not one to say just go for it. Think it through and plan it out, but at the end of the day, its your car. Do what pleases you, cuz you'll be the one looking at it the most.

Hey,
I've been bugging you for months now to post.

I call you for the umpteenth time so that you'd break down and shoot pictures of your car that same night to make it happen.

This is what it took to get you to to put something up.

It's all good now. Hope you can post "better" shots in the near future.
