Default Steering wheel and airbag removal questions

Hello Everyone,

I remember seeing a post on how to remove the airbag and steering wheels (not sure if it was for my car)

I have a 1998 GS300 and I got the wood steering wheel, I was not sure totally on how to disable the airbag, remove it and then remove the steering wheel.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Thanks !!

first of all, disconnect battery. a must!!!!!!!!

look on both side of the steering wheel (behind the airbag), there are two tab covers, pop them and you see the screws inside. take them out, and the airbag is loose. disconnect (DISCONNECT BATTERY!!!!!!!)

then the steering wheel should be pretty trivial. i forgot if there are screws (probably), but once it's loose, you just jiggle it out hard, or use special pulling tool to pull it out
