I did it with my 98. I have mine set up to use a ms zune and my ipod. Used a cable with video out as well for future upgrades. Its a easy upgrade if you can work with wiring and relays. You can use the link posted above to get the info you need.

Dentpusher: How hard is that to hook up? I have Nav. in my 98'. Would the schematics still be the same? I have a FM transmitter right now and the static is just horrible!

All the wiring diagram and whatnot you need is in that link i posted above. PureDrifter did one helluva job designing and supporting us through this. Big props to him.

looks complicated but didn't seem too bad...then again I suck at electronics so I had another member on CL (dat guy) help me big time on this one.

Has anyone any feedback on this Vaistech approach, for those of us not wiring/soldering savvy, this seems a very clean way with no wire cutting to add the device to an OE system.

Thats a much better solution. Those of us with the older systems are not able to use it.

I am a professional installer of 13+ years so I can say its easy. I had no problem doing this in 45 min. start to finish but the avarage person may take several hours. If you follow the link and are pretty good with electronic know how than you should have no problems.

FM does suck. Try using the tape adapter. I have the Sony brand which I bought over 12 years ago for the portable cd player and still works great. Awesome CD quality and you don't have to mess with the factory wiring.

Downside is the wire from the tape to iPod.
