Too many run super stretched tires just to say they're running stretched tires. Run them for a functional reason...which is to fit a wider rim close to the fender while fitting the tire inside the fender. I've seen a lot of people in the other forums think that VIP is just how much stretch you can possibly have an how low the car is. If you're running stretched to fit the wheels, run a moderate stretch. I've seen too many run a stretch that is borderline dangerous where they have problems with blow outs and bubbles, but have the attitude that it's a trade-off to run true VIP fitments. Run a moderate and safe stretch without risking your safety, and still get a good fitment.

I've had 452 and SportMaxx and both run blockey, but have not had any issues with either. I did hear that some have had problems with the 452's.

v8 aristo is right. it all depends on your original offset and how much it sticks out. if it's not coming close to the fenders and normal tires would cause stretching, there is no reason to stretch

the falken car is mine and i still run fk452 all day and will never switch. fronts are 235/35/19 on a 9.5, and the rears are 245/35/19 on a 10.5. i run a fat stretch and -4 degrees camber at up to 100mph and have never had a single problem. the rears dont last very long for me, but what can you do when you ride slammed and a little toed in the clear fenders. i would never try any other brand of tire because the fk452's were actually made for these issues. i have some friends that run stretched dunlops, but they drive pretty slow.

Stretching ANY tire is a 'pay 2 play' situation. If you drive on the corners and sidewalls then expect the life of the tire to be shortened.

I'm pretty sure the Lexus world knows that Ive been with FALKEN (under Sponsorship) and may consider my words to be a bit biased....buuuuut I've never had a FALKEN tire fail on any of my cars.

Which is why we continue to have a great relationship

My word of advice:
Dont stretch unless u have to...or if ur not willing to pay 2 play

i too have never had any problems, and i run em to the wires. its weird but my rears become totally bald all the way across except for the very outer edge. my rears last about 1500 miles i think cuz i change them twice per oil change.

Thing is, I've had either a 9.5 or 10 rear with the same 275/35/18 size for years on 2 different GSs with multiple brands and never experieced this.

I'll post pics. The tire wasn't in stock of course, so I am on the spare until the replacement comes in.

My 452's are awesome. I've been beating the heck outof my car since I got them and they have held tough with me even at the track. I also really like the super low profile, not stretched but lowe profile/rubberband look.

I'm running 255/30/21 on a 9.5 wide up front and a 295/25/21 on an 11 wide out back. if I had your set up with a 8.5 and 10 I would run a 235/30/20 with a 275/30/20 out back. Plenty thin without stretching the tire.

did you say you got the falken st115's? i was looking into that tire today its not one of falken's more popular models mostly sold to the chain stores. my falken sales rep said that they dont even sell that model# cause its not one of there best sellers. sorry that you got a bad one sometimes they are defects its a good thing there's a warranty.

hmm, im bluelex on this 1 Have had my 452's on 245/34/20 front on 8.5 and rear 275/30/20 on 10'' and the grip is very nice! even in rain WOT it goes where you point it to! also could be cause i have a NICE LSD

I had Toyo T1's previously and they were pretty much the same but the toyo's had way more wear! and slightly better grip in dry conditions but also the set costs 400$ more and not really worth it in my opinion...

Also, 452's are made by dunlop in japan...so your getting good stuff for the price you pay compared to some other brands.

I just ordered a set of Bridgestone Re960 Pole Positions today, from reading reviews on other site's as well as the loads of positive reviews they have on both Tirerack and Discount they should be a good tire. I don't have an issue with my F452's in particular, they did what they were supposed to but they wore out in less than 20k (I would guess around 15k) and became EXTREMELY noisy and rough near the end, it almost feels like a bad wheel bearing. If you look around this is a pretty common occurrence with the 452's. On a positive note they are relatively inexpensive and they seem like they are designed to have a slightly stretched look even on a standard rim (275 on a 10" rim for example). Either way, I'm looking forward to running the Bridgestones, if they are as good as everyone says then they should be a great upgrade.

hey mike. first of all, did you actually put your wheel face DOWN on the floor?! that's a very bad idea man

in any case, yup, that looks the same as the dunlop on my friend's wheels. how are the other 3 tires holding up? ok?
