Default Heavy Trunk??

Does anyone has the same problem where the trunk is heavy? i have friends that close my trunk and they say they just drop the trunk but when im in the car i feel it like they are slamming it; the trunk lid is heavy. i look at carsons oem parts and i see they have the option for the torsion bar that if it has a spoiler or not.i dont know if that makes a difference if i have a spoiler or not. but the torsion bar doesnt seem to hold up my trunk and spoiler; some of the led's in the spoiler light is broken due to all the closing of my trunk that got slammed.

i know tein makes the universal truck struts, but has anyone got lift supports for the trunk?

yeah my gs trunk is heavy too, its due to the spoiler lol. i tend to drop it about an 1 inch above where it closes, thats how high it needs to be, dont drop it like 5 inches high, lmao.

yeah. i was thinking if the torsion bar makes a differrrent. but i was also thinking about adjusting the torsion bar. i just got an s2000 and the trunk wouldnt hold up, the previos owner had drilled on the hinges, so i adjusted the torsion back alittle which now its holding the trunk up.

but i dont want to drill holes. i just want to know if it makes a difference with the bar or if has anyone installed trunk struts

Your tension bar is probably worn out by now, or it needs adjusting. Mine doesn't 'slam' at all. I have to drop the lid down a few inches higher to have it close by itself. I have OEM wing too.

Hey guys...the GS has an adjustment in the trunk to make this bar stiffer! There are 3 settings. I adjusted mine last year because I felt the same way with my trunk feeling "heavy" with the OEM spoiler. Problem fixed! Just peek your head way under there and you will see where the torsen bar meets the trunk walls...there are 3 settings...GL!

Remove the inside covers of the wheel well and you'll see 3 notches.
