I purchased mine from Ace, I purchased 1/4 and 3/8. It is called caulk backing. As you can see I have 2 different sizes, 3/8's on the left was a little too big, 1/4 on the right was perfect, just combined them in 1 bag to save room.

FYI, you have to remind yourself to watch out for Emergency vehicles... I had a problem of not hearing one a few weeks ago. It seals up pretty good... the wind noise is also coming from the windows seal, as meantioned earlier by a CL member.
I'm going to bring this back from the its partially dead status because I just did this on my SC and I'm curious did you anyone notice the doors opening louder, almost like the is pressure on the latch? My other concern is rain, has anyone experienced any leaks?
Home depot sells this for $2.50; that is about half the price of Ace. I was only able to find 3/8's size at both locations though.
Yeah quite a few store carry it, but obviously not the Ace brand name. I used Ace because my friend's dad own the local one, so I just had him pick some up. They have 3 size, however 1/2" was way too big.
Get a small marble and wrap the marble and tie it with a long string. Let the morble slide all through the rubber until it come back out at the otherend (circles back to where you started). Now tie the foam tube to that string and pull it. You should get one continous foam tube around to make a great seal.
Better yet, attach end of vacuum hose to one end of weatherstripping and feed string into the other end. Vacuum will pull string through the weatherstripping. Then attach foam to one end and pull through.
Nobody responded to the question of what/where the "cabin plug" is.....
Also, it does seem that either many places do not carry this size or it is called something different.
Here is a link to a 100 foot roll for 7$, shipped. This version has a plastic sleeve. I am not sure if it can easily be removed and/or it would impede installation.
I completed the first step using running the 3/8 tubing, but it didn't make a difference with wind noise. I used silicon spray in the small holes as the tubing went down. Its not easy and you do have to pull it out and back in a few times. Once the tunnel is fully coated it will go in a small amount at a time. Massaging the tube helps the movement of the foam. Warm soapy water didnt work as well. I was able to get the tube all the way down 3 inches below where the AC vent connects to the door.
Has anyone else removed the outter window stripping seen in the blurry pics above? How was your outcome?
