Flat black looks cheap. Unless you're going for a primer-looking theme, stick to something with more gloss to it.

keep in mind, if you want to do a matte finish in black, it's quite possible WITHOUT ACTUALLY PAINTING... just get HUGE rolls of matte black vinyl!

i saw a BMW locally that was done up like that. you couldn't even tell it was vinyl because the roll they used was so big that there were no seams. looked pretty cool and at the same time - pretty much zero chances of rock chips!

I slightly disagree with these quotes...here's what's formed my opinion (take a look and post up what you think):

Also...it's not so much a fad. Flat, matte black finishes have been around for years:

I like flat black on some of the cars I've seen, but we're talking about the GS. It may look good on some Ferrari and Mercedes, but a GS? I dunno about that. At least the ferrari has the sports-car thing going on to warrant the flat black look. Some colors look good with certain cars, but it doesn't mean it'll look good on all other cars. A lot of guys like yellow lamborghinis, but I doubt most of us would like the same yellow on our GS

I think I have pics of a flat black GS and another of a flat white GS somewhere. Until I find them, I'll keep posting flat black beauties:

It can look good, but it will need more than just paint.

That S15 looks like an exotic car with that paint job

My girl and her daughter was in the GS430 with me the first lap I took at Moroso. She was begging me to let her out of the car after the first corner I took. Some how the guys from Lexus talked her into taking the ISF around the track but she dorve it like my grandma would have. I was able to talk her into mashing the gas once on the back straight. I wish I had a sound clip of her while I was driving. She was about to cry... But her twelve year old daughter couldnt stop laughing.

I had that ISF up to 130 on the straight away at Moroso. I wish you could all hear how the ISF sounds at WOT.
