Heat the emblem with a blow dryer, that should help soften the glue, then take floss or fishing line, wrap the ends on your index fingers and using an up and down motion work behind the emblem. I did it with a credit card but it's probably messier that way. I started with floss but it kept breaking after a few strokes.

I did this on my SC400. I had originally bought a set from some guy on ebay that was out of hong kong and after a couple of weeks the paint wore off to reveal gold underneath. Anyways when I repainted mine they came out pretty well. Just take a lot of time and get several coats on them. Also go down to your local paint store and they can hook you up with the right type of primer.
One problem you may run into is finding black pearl paint. I ended up finding it on the model company testors site and it was pretty cheap.
