Unhappy GS front end vibration

Hey guys I was told by gazis brothers to replace my tie rod ends because of the shaking and vibration in the steering wheel at 60mph + speeds but no effect whatsoever ( waste of $300 ).

**** It's actually gotten worse. One of my rims was repaired and had a bent but its in the back, so I dont think it should be the issue. Also where can I get high speed balancing and alignment done in NYC?

I read around the forums to find out that the OEM 17" rims had a cupping / vibration problem. I don't have money like that to keep testing new things out so I would appreciate any help

I would say the next step is Daizen steering rack bushings. I had those installed and it helped the problem a bit. It is a mystery to everyone here on CL how to totally alleviate the vibration problem. About the OEM 17's. They were actually the only wheels I've ran that didn't vibrate whatsoever. Even my 07' GS430 wheels vibrate now and then, probably because of cold tires.

I just bought a 98 GS400 with 100k miles on it, very well maintained all it's life. Had bad shaking while braking as well as at high speeds. I replaced all rotors and pads and now brakes great, but still shakes off-and-on at speeds betweeen 60-80 and sometimes while coasting down from 60. The lower ball joints were replaced by the previous owner about 5 to 10k miles ago, along with a few 4-wheel alignments. I'm going with new 18" wheel/tire in a few weeks, so I'll see how that changes things, but after that I'll probably look at the tie rods, etc...

bump

I noticed another thing while driving today the car shakes from 50-70mph then clears up very smooth at 70+. I did find out I have a bent rim that was repaired but its in the back...should that matter with the vibration issue??

steering rack bushing cut my vibrations down by 60%.

Before the car would vibrate so bad, I could see the passenger seat shake like I had 20 subwoofers in my car or something. Now it still has a shake, but I can't see the seat move anymore. I did some research and the only thing I could find wrong was my castor arm bushing.

I've got a 99GS4 and did a lot of reaserch about the vibration because mine had it too in that certain MPH range. I had to get some new tires and it went away. Do you have aftermarket springs and shocks?

Happens here to with new tires/ rotors etc... just dont drive in the 60-80 range just keep above 80 and below 60 that should fix the problem.
