-29'C/-20'F can't start, too cold....
So my car 98 gs400, is unable to start today, it's so cold outside, the battery seems to have enough power, I tried starting it, starter turns the motor fine, but no fire up. I hook it up with battery jumper as I know I'll use up the power anyways... There's a few pops in between, sometimes it seems like it'll start as a few pops happen together, but still no luck...
So...
engine turns fine
battery shouldn't be a problem with battery pack jumper
...fuel? if it is, I don't think there's anything I can do now do I?

not really, there isn't a block heater form Lexus that I know, and the only one that's good I heard is battery blanket warmer + stick on oil pan heater + coolant warmer But so far, I'm only able to find battery blanket...

Exact same thing happened to me. I tried using anti-freeze gas line, but still no luck. I'm thinking there is moisture somewhere in the ignition system that's causing the engine to not turn.

thanks, I'd need to change my oil then I'd say... always wondered which one I should get...
I got it started... went to get a friend to jump me, well, supply power is more suited.... and I bought gas line antifreeze, and crank the car for like 5 minutes... and it kept on trying and trying to fire, but still just pops, then pops kept coming like popcorn, and vorrom! and tonnes of white smoke out the back lol
now I just drove the car for like 30min. and parked back... hope it works tomorrow..... think so, as I've put in the gas antifreeze now...

OOOooo... another question, why does our engine cool down so quickly? My engine's completely cold I mean it fell below C mark on the temp gauge just within an hour. My friend's GTI's still above the C. Our BMW's pretty warm too as in it blows warm air and drives completely normal within a minute, but mine's cold like I've put there for 5 hours+
It warms slow too...

It is cold here in NYC right now 11 degrees Not as cold as what our buddy is experiencing.. Synthetic oil will help in the winter along with proper concentration of coolant. I agree with the gasline antifreeze for such extreme temperatures.

Are you running a stock intake? If your are running stock try premium fuel from a major named gas station. I live in minneapolis, it was -14 yesterday, turned and cranked and without a doubt she rumbbled like she knew i was feeling a little heavy footed.... i run 5w30 mobile 5000 and i change it every 3k w/ oem filters.

I hate you
I was in Scottsdale for new years and man what a beautiful place it was...I grew up in the midwest and it felt so weird wearing just a t-shirt and jeans the first week of January. It cracked me up b/c girls were busting out their gloves when it was about 55F lol.
