Default Debate: LTuned Steering ECU - Same part used in 2001 GS430?

I know this one has been dragged out for a long time and the accounts differ from side to side. I am more inclined to believe the members here on CL, since some have actually already done this and see the difference. But there are other CL members on here that say it's the same.

LTuned officially e-mailed me the following today:

Thank you for your interest in L-Tuned. The L-Tuned steering ECU will not work for the GS430 because the factory steering ECU has the same program as the L-Tuned ECU. Please contact the following dealers in New Jersey for ordering information:
Lexus of Cherry Hill (800)873-5398
Lexus of Englewood (800)989-5398

L-Tuned Sales and Customer Service
(800) 423-1680

My dealer says it's the same too so no need to change.

Any comments people? I just need tighter steering!

Why not just read the old thread? It was beaten to death before. RealMarty and I carefully test drove his GS430 before and after (without sharing comments) the L-Tuned ECU and both were convinced it made the steering feel considerably tighter.

I guess the best proof is to try it for yourself if Bit and Marty's evaluation is not convincing enough for you. The ECU is relatively cheap through Steve Ganz (SUPRATRD), and you can probably resell it in the classifieds if dissatisfied.

I believe Bit and the others and I will get the LTuned ECU, but I'm just tired of Lexus not getting their act together and providing us with information that is to the contrary. Don't they try this out too? Don't they know what they are putting into their cars?

Thanks again!
