i saw these two on ebay. what do u guys think?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1998-...spagenameZWDVW

these have just the timing belt, Timing Belt Tensioner Bearing water pump.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-99...spagenameZWD1V

this one has more stuff 1 Timing Belt (Bando)

1 Water Pump (Aisin)

1 Serpentine Belt (Bando/Continental/Gates)

1 Tensioner Roller (Koyo)

1 Tensioner (Genuine Toyota)

do i need all the serpentine belt and all that stuff? what is it for anyways?

and should i even go with these. are they reliable? ty

$250 for timing belt only. That must be a mistake
you need,
cam seals
Crank seal
tensioners (koyo)
water pump
Timing belt
I rather go with toyota parts. you need to change it once for 90K

I've been having a lot of bad luck lately with ebay car parts. I would just go OEM and just pay the extra few bucks. Have you tried pricing things up at the Toyota dealership?

Order through Carson Toyota. I think the online system gives you even more discount. Or call up Luis or Steve there in the parts department and tell them you're from CL. They will give you a little hookup

Bando is actually a good brand as far belts are concerned, know of 3 turbo 2jz running the Aisin pump and Koyo is an OE manufacturer so I think all those parts are good. You do need a crank and cam seal too as well as maybe a valve cover gasket. And if you want to play it safe the ball joints and tie rods as well.

FYI on parts costs

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...&highlight=90k

250 for the belt?
That doesn't sound right to me at all.

That Ebay price seems iffy to me.
199 for all that?
The OEM water pump alone is 175.

It is sometimes called the front main seal, located behind the crankshaft pulley, aka vibration dampener. It is the oil seal at the crankshaft where it goes through the front cover...

...only if the oil seal is worn and leaking.

It is replaced as preventive maintenance.

After 18+ years in the automotive aftermarket, I can tell you when my Lexus needs something, I only use OEM parts. It's pretty much a given that an OEM timing belt will last at least 90K. Would you risk the possibility of bending half of the valves in your engine with a belt purchased off of EBay? If you did buy an EBay belt, installed it and it failed, who would you go back on? Not to say that I don't use EBay because I buy a lot of stuff there. I just wouldn't trust something so important in an expensive engine.
