When i bought my 430 in june or july of 07', i paid $15,000 for a Millenium Silver, sport package, no nav/mark levinson, which is the only 2 options that my car doesn't have. It has 89k miles at the time, customer didn't want to do 90k service. Being a Technician, i saved about $700 on my 90k. I'm suspecting it is going to need ball joints soon.

This is the last time I will comment unless someone directly asks me something.

Everyone do this example.... Look for Item: "110222687029" on ebay first. That is the wholesale price for the car (i looked it up). Then look at Item: "350018034396". The Lexus dealer is trying to make $10k on the car when they only paid $16k (probably less) with less options. That is what I am talking about. If you search for completed listings any GS (2001-2003) you will see a lot of red because it will not sell for more than wholesale. Dealers don't pay extra for cars, why should we just give them thousands for going to an auction or accepting a trade from someone. I understand everyone is trying to make a living and that is acceptable, but a dealer trying to get up to 50% markup instead of the usual 10% is unacceptable. Even a brand new Lexus only has a markup over invoice (msrp) of 10-13%!!! Just be careful with your purchases guys, don't let the industry screw the consumer.

I found a GS and I am going to see it today. Wish me luck.

I bought my 02 430 in May 07 for $19.5k w/all options, 71k, one owner, private party sale. The sticker was $56.5k when new. I saw a similar car at a Ford dealer for $25.5 about 2 months before. I don't know what I could have bought the other car for but I would think it would have been less then $24k. The dealers list cars at price that would be a great deal for them. They can sell most at a price much lower. It all depends on your negotiating skills. The price of gas may also have something to do with it.

Holy **** if anyone is willing to spend 30K on a used gs430, look at an 06 gs300 for 30k range, yes it is weaker and harder to mod, but damn is it a nice car....

Last week, I almost bought an 05 CPO gs430 blk/blk, nav, ML, for $28,900 w/ $4k down and finance the rest. I was at work while talking to the dealer, running numbers, getting insurance quotes etc. After I got home, something told me not to buy it. So I didn't. It was at Pohanka Lexus in VA. I didn't even see the car (only on the internet) or drive it.

The only negotiating they were willing to do was take off $299 off a dealer fee and give it to me for $100.

The dealer told me that she wasted her time, and money for FedEx-ing me the paperwork overnight, which she sent to my Georgia address (I'm currently in NY and requested her to send it to NY). Then tried to sell me a used Infiniti!

I was looking at cars the other day at my local lexus dealership. I drove my car in the lot...no one saw it.....

I was looking at used gs3's with the same mileage...they wanted 20k for it....I lauged
then they asked if I had a trade in..I said yes..

showed themm

"we will give you 8k for it."

My car was so much better condition than the one they are selling.

very funny.

Well When I bought my '01 GS430 in August of '07 it had 37,500 miles (no nav/ml) and the dealership had it listed for $26,800 and I laughed hard in their face, well after many negotiations I ended up buying the car for $22,000 OTD which I thought was a pretty good price considering the mileage and condition of the car. Inside was pristine with only minor leather wear due to age, and the outside was in good condition except for a few barely noticeable scratches ... I think I got a pretty good deal

Pohanka is making a KILLING in Northern Virginia, that's why they didn't negotiate on the GS430. The market here is ripe, folks are buying well, they are not going to budge at all on that thing.

BTW - Black Onyx rules!!

If you talk to someone in the service department, they'll tell you they can ask that price because it's certified
