How can I tell if the dealer installed the L-Tuned Steering ECU?
I just recently had the dealer install the L-Tuned Springs, struts and Steering ECU on my '01 GS430. I had the dealer give me all the old parts, however, I couldn't find the old steering ECU. I haven't had a chance to talk with the dealer about that, however, I was wondering if there are any tell-tale signs that the ECU was swapped out.
Don't get me wrong. The car handles great! But I really don't notice any difference in the way the steering wheel feels (ie. when the fluid flow changes at lower speeds, etc.). However, the car drives so much tighter, it could be that the difference is masked by the overall improvements.

all the factors effects your steering feel i'd say, stiffer suspension..lowered height, and Ltuned steering ECU, when i got my Ltuned ECU, i did not notice any diffrerence at low speed but at HIGH speed thats where the difference takes place. the car handles tighter and more secure at high speed.

Check some of the current and old threads regarding the L-Tuned steering ECU and the GS430. It's still not clear in my mind if the L-Tuned ECU is the same as the GS430 standard one.
I have a 1999 GS400 w/ L-Tuned steering ECU and it does make a subtle difference.
Good luck.
