Some of you true enthusiasts notice the various kinds of leather used in Lexus vehicles. My favorite is the leather used in the LS. Over the past several few years, this Really soft leather has made it into other Lexus vehicles..

What's the first year this leather became available in the GS?

Leather has always been an option in the 2nd gen GS ever since it debut as a 1998 model.

thats not what he means. he wants to know if the type of leather that comes in the ls he mentioned ever came in the 2gs. im not giving any input though because i have no idea.

i'd say check with the dealer. and which year LS are you referring to about the leather is your fav? imho, i think the lexus leather in our 2GS is too soft/sensitive to everyday use...it scratches and marrs too easily.

If memory serves me, the 2001 Lexus LS430 was the first Lexus to offer this type of leather...

Don't know here, I just like the way the car naturally smells from the Lexus leather, no matter where they got it.
