Default Another 90k parts list request

OK its my fault totally for not bookmarking the thread when I saw it the other night but I have been searching for 2+ hours and still haven't seen it.

There is a thread on this very forum that shows a parts list for the 90k service with water pump, idlers, pre-tensioners, and all the seals. I think its fairly recent and it mentions the Carson prices.

Help an embarrassed noobie out!

This was the list that I got to buy all mine for my 98 GS400. This is from Mike Calvert Toyota(800-527-5368) in Texas ask for Bill he will hook you up. Very easy to deal with I have been dealing with him for a few years now. This is only for toyota parts not Lexus specific parts.

Mods if this violates anything just delete parts of this post or the entire post.

Thanks for the info guys.

I ended up making an appointment with my local Lexus dealer as I haven't found a local mechanic I really trust yet (with this or any car really). They quoted around $420 for the parts and about 8 hours labor (don't think they figured in a new T-Stat) so it sounds inline with what every pays for on here.

These lists are great, we really should have a sticky on this...

Hmmm...maybe I should take a stab at that?

thanks for posting this question as I was just going to begin this search. I bought my 98 GS w/87k and the PO claimed this was already performed, but I've put another 20k on it since and want to do it again just to be safe.

Jon, take it back to the Lexus dealer, and they can tell by the belt as well as the plugs rouhgly how long it has been, but if you are sent on spending the money, what would it hurt for 2 90ks, except your wallet.

My final total with oil change (like $40 bucks) and a new serpentine belt after tax was $1300+

I was quoted 8 hours of labor at $95/hour

why do you need 12 of them. it says in manual it only holds 2 guarts. or im looking at it wrong.

and what about tranny filter and gasket. does that not need to be changed on gs400. and if not when does it.

He's probably getting his ATF completely flushed, not just a basic drain and fill.

Sorry. I was not paying attention to this thread... I am an all or nothing kind of guy. I buy stuff by the case.. I had already bought 20 drain plug gaskets the month before. I have an 00 tundra that uses the same plug gasket. The trans fluid in my GS is DIRTY.. I did the 2.5 qts out and 2.5qts in multiple times. I am on my second case.. By the way there is only a screen not a filter you do not need to change it only clean it.. I took my tundra pan down after 100K and was pissed that I took it down.. it was VERY clean.. I am assuming that the screen in the GS would be clean as well.

This guy in Texas is awesome.. I cannot say enough about him. I bought about $300 worth of suspension parts "just incase" and sent back to him and he was like fine.. I will refund the cost of the parts. His name is Bill from Mike Calvert Toyota... they have reasonable shipping as well. Their shipping is MUCH better then http://www.discounttoyotaparts.com/... their pricing seems to be about the same though..

BTW Mods.. if I break a rule just delete my most recent bad thread..

ok I get it. so i was going to do the drain and fill. then when i change my oil again do it again and do this over and over again till it looks clean. dont want to do the flush being i have a 155k on my car and dont want to risk flushing something out that could be keeping it from leaking if you get what I mean.
