Question 3UZ-FE Longevity

I have recently looking at high mileage GS430's and I was wondering how many miles I can realistically expect to get out of the motor and transmission? If I needed to replace them how much it would cost? Of course any car you take care of will last a long time. My 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee has 150k and no problems with the engine. As long as the body is in good condition and has all the options I would be ok, but still I would rather have to deal with a dead engine later rather than sooner

Well I've heard of some people on these boards taking the GS well over 250k miles, as long as it is properly maintained of course. These cars last forever

Since you said it's high mileage, have it checked out by a mechanic before deciding to purchase to make sure the previous owner maintained it well

Maintenance say all. A well maintained car last many years.

The spark plugs also tell much about the engine. Take one out from each side to see how they looks like. (Check color and not oil around) see pict

Drive the car to feel the motor performance, vibrations, brakes and transmission gear up & down changes.

Anything else I should keep in mind? Especially since I can't take it to a mechanic (going out of town to get one).
