Default Well... it has begun (the modding that is)

Since I'm a very new member and recent owner of Cuonggs300's old ride, I wanted to make a small intro and hope that you all won't mind my questions.

First, the whole point of this thread . I'm picking up these wheels and don't have the slightest clue what the preferred tire size is. I plan on getting either the Tein CS or something similar with more of a drop. I also don't mind shaving the rear fenders so if anyone has any insight on a conservative tire setup, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks! Hopefully, the modding will be more reasonable since this is my daily

Here are a few pics of my previous rides and it's obvious I have a problem with wheels.

Edwin--

YES!!! O man I'm so glad you got a 2GS...... I got phase 1 of mods to be installed at the end of the month. I have all the parts just sitting in the garage, but need to send my car to the body shop before I install everything.

Look forward to seeing the 2GS evolve. Hopefully one of these days we will have the opportunity to meet.

I have never complimented you on your "Got Jesus?" stickers that you have always had on your cars. Fellow believer here my friend.
Keep up the good work!

Also, anything I can do to help Edwin would be a delight. Shoot me a PM with any questions you have.

Ben

Thanks Ben I'm glad I got the GS too. Cuong hooked it up for me and I'm liking this car so far. Do you have any pics of your GS? Thanks man... let me know if you want one of the stickers

Its current condition is not worth posting Edwin. When I have everything wrapped up at the end of the month I will hopefully get one of my Photographer friends to take some decent pics as I just suck horribly at camera work.

In the meantime I will send you a PM to let you know whats in store.

with all those sweet rides and wheel tire setup.

I don't understand how you wouldn't know what tire size is standard for the GS, especially, when by the looks of the pictures all the wheels on the cars are not standard either??

strange.

nice rides btw.

need pic of the GS

If it has brand new 225/35 in the fronts, you can run a 255/30 in the rears. This will give you a proportional tire profile and the same very mild stretch front and rear. You might not need to shave the rear fenders, but might need to trim the corner where the end of the bumper meets the wheel well. Fronts will need to be rolled if you are planning on an aggressive drop, just because 20" will have an oversized spec and will hit the fender if the wheels are turn going up driveways on an angle.

Good Luck

That's b/c I started out by what I'm doing now...asking fellow owners. And besides, it's good to know what specs people run for their combination of drop, camber, tire size and wheel specs

Thank you for the recomendation. The rims come with 225/30/20s in the front. I think that's too thin for me. Has anyone ran this in the 2nd gen GS?

You can run a a standard 245/35 and 275/30 set up. There will be more fender mods involve, but not much.
