car would rev up but not catch ? explain ...

You need to drive around for couple of hours upon jump , reason why lights are still dim ... car needs a load on it

Try to do a complete reset on everything. Unplug the battery negative terminal for 15minutes and then reconnect it. See if the car operates normally afterwards.

Try a new battery. If I understood you correctly, you have the battery hooked up to another car for a jump, but the car will not turn over? If this is the case you need a new battery. Your car is running off the power of the other car and that is not enough juice to bump the starter. Other idea is to put that battery into your car, start it, and they transfer yours back into the car to be charged by the alternator.

No don't do no battery transfer it's not a 1970 pick up truck, not only will this not work, but you can damage electrical items.
