Default HKS Cam Gear and Custom Oil Catch Can

Well, I haven't been doing much lately but I decided to get a few things done off of my check list these past few weeks. I finally got my HKS Cam Gear installed. CarbonIS helped me with the install of a custom oil catch can. We like to call it the Shin Motorsports Husky Custom Oil Catch Can lol.

Thanks for looking

I was thinking of getting the HKS cam gear since I already have their dampeners, exhaust, drop in filter, and grounding kit . How much did you get it for, and where at if you don't mind me asking?

Catch tank is a bit small lol. But then again you're not boosted so no oil should ever be coming out of your valve covers

My friends supra throws out about half a quart of oil after a few hard runs down the track lol. Then again he's pushing like 30psi thru that motor.

looking at the cam gear, its still set at 0 degree, so no advance or retarding has been done yet, so probably no performance gain, but its a good step towards a stronger engine setup.

I see the modding bug has landed in Georgia and is not leaving for awhile? Wher did you get that piping for the radiator hose?

The cam gear was tested on an IS300. The cam gear makes an average of 6rwhp/tq across the whole rpm range. It it made 6.5 rwhp @6100 rpm and 9.5 rwtq @ 5000 rpm at and up to 10 rwhp and 8 rwtq at the stock 6440 rpm redline.

Keep in mind those gains will only happen if you advance the cam timing. If you have it set at 0 then it will have no difference over stock.
