there is like a capsule inside the housing that makes it yellow i think. the seller should have said that it was a yellow fog! but it shouldnt be hard to sell, whichever one u do end up selling to match..

ok so I guess I am confused... you purchased a new fog lamp housing for driver side.... they both used to be white and now the new one (drivers side) is yellow? If I am right please let me know and I will give you the possible solution... -Joe

Yea, there is a yellow capsule. Find someone to trade with, although there aren't too many people with single clears. Another option is to break the yellow capsule, but then that would be a waste of a good fog.

Originally, you can get yellow foglights with cars that are equiped with HID.

ok here goes ..had 2 fogs that gave out white light unless i put in yellow bulbs .. got into an accident and the driver side fog got ruined .. bought a used oem fog for the drivers side and its gives out yellow light with the same white bulb in .. why is one fog yellow and 1 white when they both have white bulbs in ? did the previous owner of the car remove the yellow cap to make my prev fog white?

Looks like the original owner switched out the yellow for clear and you purchased a yellow fog light. If your car has HIDs then the fogs would be yellow. If not, they'll be clear.Hope this helps...

if you do not want the yellow light.. (backup) there is a yellow capsule inside the fog cluster. it surrounds the bulb, therefore when the bulb emits light, the yellow glass surrounding where the bulb fits in changes the color. If you do not want this the simplest way of getting the yellow away is the way i did it..... take a LONG flathead screwdriver and repetitively bash into the cluster until all the yellow shatters. When it shatters then shake all the glass out. REMEMBER it is glass, not some kind of plastic so PLEASE BE CAREFUL (I can and will not be responsible if you hurt yourself, your foglight or anything!!) please please be careful. But i hope this helps. if you have any more questions just post and hopefully i can help. BTW i did this on my '00 GS400 with stock yellow fogs
