How Does Your Lexus Compare?
How does your Lexus compare to previously owned vehicles in the performance department? Faster? Slower? By faster, I mean acceleration and/or top speed.
As much as I love mine, it's fifth on the list

slower.
but is one of the nicer sedans I've owned.
acceleration is okay...in contrast to:
My S4 is ~ 330hp/378ft/lb and deep 13's in the 1/4
My 92 Talon Tsi AWD is an high 11 second car
I've had a few import cars in the 13 sec or faster category....but I didn't buy this car for performance, it was bought for having room and comfort w/o getting a minivan or SUV.

Slowest car I have owned but love the look of the 2nd gen GS and is very comfortable compaired to all the 2 door cars I have owned in the past. Atleast it comes with a nice powerplant will lots of potential (2jz-ge) and the V8 guys seem to like the power it has.

Much better! I used to drive my Dads' Mercedes Benz ML 320 V6, and it wouldn't be able to handle the 'push' that I used to give it.
The Lexus design is incredible, unique, and very very excellent. It holds up to all of my rigorous testings Except for the bad things I do to it... like burn outs... yeah, bad lol

Here's the order of cars I've had/have:
'91 Volvo 940 Turbo
'95 Miata
'00 GS3!
It's definitely the chunkiest, can't corner like my Miata, doesn't have the turbo but I love the VIP status feeling it brings me whenever I drive it.

I just had the opportunity to drive a G35S for 2 months. I will say this...
The G35 was faster.
But....
I was so happy to get my GS back it wasn't even funny.
The controls are in the right spot.
The seats are more comfortable.
The power is sufficient.
The luxury is beyond compare.
etc
Honestly, even though my GS is 6 years and 120,000 miles older, I still prefer it over my fathers G35sedan.

Compared to what I've owned:
1970 Pontiac LeMans
1971 Cutlass Supreme convertible
1983 Mazda RX7 GLX-SE
1992 Mazda RX7 Efini
1995 Jeep Cherokee Limited
2006 Nissan 350Z convertible (I still have this along with the Lexus)
My 1999 Lexus GS300 is #1 on the list for comfort, #5 on the list for performance. Here's the difference, the PERFORMANCE factor for "what this car is supposed to be" actually makes it #2 on the list in my mind instead of the #5 on actually evaluating what the does on the road. The Lexus, with some small modifications, has outstanding excel, tremendous handling, has outstanding luxury, and is still one of the most striking cars on the road.
From the moment they released this car it was a stunner.
