What version is your DVD navigation disc? It could be that you have an old disc and the mapping on the disc itself is off. When I got mine last year, I had the 2001 disc and the entrance to my neighborhood (which is about over 10 years old) was way off on the map. I'd drive in the entrance and the arrow on the screen was an inch away from the entrance on the map. No calibrating would help. So I updated to the '06 DVD and everything's great.

AUGuy21 brings up a good point. if you have an older disc you are less likely to have accurate information, but it is possible to re-calibrate your nav yourself. Depending on the version you have, it is either through the menu button in the settings or it is through the hidden back door where you will need to calibrate. Try going to the volume screen on your nav. touch the top left of the screen by the speaker and then the lower left. You are going to be touching top then bottom, top then bottom, and I believe one more time, top then bottom. A new screen should appear allowing you to calibrate your nav, as well as, turn off the feature that prevents you from entering data while driving. You will also need to do this process each time you start and stop the car if you want to use the input capibilities.

That's Gps/calibration button (whatever button it is) never works for me in that hidden screen. I'm in So Cal and it will always change my location to Washington.

You can try going to the Menu>Setting Option>Position. Just scroll over to where your location is and Enter. This is what I have to do from time to time for some reason.
