Default hid foglight retro..my journey begins

after reading so many threads saying that you cannot remove the glass lens, i finally was able to do it. i work at a body shop and just asked one of the bodymen if they can take the glass lens apart...10 mins later he comes in the office and hands them to me. all he did was heat up the glass with his heatgun(industrial strength) and used a pick to start prying it off. the glass started breaking up into pieces so he just kept picking at it and then used a small flat screwdriver to get into the crevices and scraped off the caulking. he said there is no way of saving the glass though, but who cares!
the projectors pictured are off my bmw 325i that i never got to mounting so i will be using it for this retro. haven't gotten around to taking off the other projector from the black housing in the picture) also i have d2s bulbs and ballasts. i have pretty much all the tools i need so give me some time and i hope to get it done soon.

---keep checking this thread, i will be updating with pics as much as i can.3/18

How about making a shroud out of fiberglass painted black or body colour? kinda like 92-95 civic fogs? http://www.xtralights.com/ProductIma...CV924OEMDP.jpg

Or have Lexan cut out to fit?

i have lexan but not sure if it will stand up to the heat. i think when lexan heats up too much it becomes really flimsy and might melt

Nice work. The hardest part will be trying to make a new lens. How come the projector glass looks blue but the output is yellow?
