On the diagram describing the removal of the throttle body, Seattle labeled one of the figures in the diagram as "Air Inlet Hose for EVAP". Can anyone tell me the official name of this hose or any particular specs on it because I noticed mine was not in good condition and Im thinking this could possibly been a side factor in my car not getting all of its power. The people at Pep Boys seemed to be oblivious and I can't find the part online anywhere. I'm assuming I am using the wrong title. Thanks for the help in advance

Found out what caused the high idle. Quite a while ago I had a new TPS (throttle position sensor) installed and they never adjusted it correctly. The voltage was about TWICE what it was supposed to be. Fortunately the tech that did the job doesn't work there anymore - lots of complaints against him.
TPS sensor was readjusted and all is well now. Idles at around 600 to 700 rpm.
The cleaning made a huge difference in acceleration. TB was fairly gummed up and MAF sensor wasn't clean at all. 207k miles.

I have a 99 GS400 and I am trying to figure out the part number for these hoses (specifically 'Air Inlet Hose for EVAP' and 'PCV Hose'). Does anyone have the part numbers for these? Thanks

So, just to be clear, it is safe to use the CRC MAF Cleaner on a 2001+ GS300 as long as you allow it to fully dry before putting it back into the air intake and starting the car? Otherwise, the hot wire in the MAF might ignite the cleaner, right?
Does the cleaner fully evaporate or will there be a thin layer of cleaner left on the sensor after the liquid dries out? If so, wouldn't there still be a danger of accidental ignition by the hot wire?
Thanks for the input.

I just cleaned my GS's throttle body today. Feels good to get that done. I was going to replace the throttle position sensor as well, but ended up stripping the lower screw. I guess I'll have to take it to the dealer to get that switched out.

I noticed what felt like a lean condition driving my GS so I cleaned my MAF and Throttle Body at around 75K. Worked good until about 90K when the lean condition came back. Did the cleaning again, improved for a while but the lean condition once more returned. I replaced the MAF (Sewell) it made all the difference in the world! The MAF does get to the point where the only solution is to replace it.

I think I'm going to do this DIY next. Just need the weather to cooperate with me. Great write up! Very simple by the looks! Shouldn't be too much work. If I do this in the near future I'll definitely try to share some pics too. Just to share my experience with you guys too. Before & after pics.
