Man same thing here. 2000 Lex GS300 100,000 miles.
Nasty squeeking from the rear passenger side, I pulled the rim off and sprayed everything with penetrating oil, but still not solved. i think its comming from the lower shock bushing, its driving me nuts.
I am just going to drive the car up on some 2x4's at the rear wheels slide under the car with a cheap 10 dollar Mechanic Stethoscope and get somebody to rock the car and find out what busing it is.

I had the same sort of squeaking sound with my SC300. It's a 'rusty, creaking' sound. I thought it was a bushing, nope. It was the spring insulator. It's a rubber piece between the upper spring mount and the strut itself. It had been chewed through it and it was metal on metal contact causing the squeak.

I had a creak in the rear passanger side. Turned out it was the trunk lining on the passanger side wall where it met the metal at the bottom of the trunk. Put a terry cloth under the lining wall and no more squeek.

Here is what the dealer said:
After three hours of searching and driving the car over a bumpy section of road behind the dealership, they claim to have found the source of my creaking.
The steel rail that runs down each side behind the side skirts, where the jack is placed, should be welded together and mine isnt so the two pieces rub when the car flexes over driveways or goes over bumps making a sqeak/rattle/creak. (all sorts of noises now
)
I asked why the noise just started a month ago and the tech said the weld was probably there before and then broke somehow.
The other side does look different like there inst as much of a gap. He sprayed some grease in there and the creaking has been greatly reduced although its not totally gone.
Where would I take my car to get the body rewelded? a collision repair shop?
Im still not totally convinced this is the true source. I guess I will get the weld done and then see if it stops. If not then I dont know what to do

You can take it to a bodyshop to get rewelded .Where exactly is the part that was suppose to be welded is? Im new to the gs and i have a squeaking sound coming from the rear of mines too. I haven't seen any work bushings that will cause the noise either.
