Any difference between the older 260ps 1UZ-FE and the newer 300hp GS400 1UZ-FE? VVTi and non-VVTi?

...don't forget about the torque too. Let's just say VVT-i acts like an expiditer in the factory's preproprammed powerband with respect to intake timing. Also, the JDM 3UZ-FE will be limited to 280ps because of gentlemen's agreement.
