Shaving it is the only way to go in my opinion,
we shaved a friend of mines civic fenders turned out great,

one of my friends has a eastwood fender roller and i have seen him do several 240's that turned out great, so last night he does mine.

first thing, after you remove the black fender trim (rock gaurd) there are little plastic divets above the lip, get those out some how, i didn't get all of them out and it ended up giving my fender some flat spots like it's somewhat wavy ..

now the worst part couldn't really be helped but we just didn't know, my car must have had some bondo work done by previous owner that i didn't know about cause the fender started flaking away bondo and finally ended up with a big bondo crack about two inches long going up the fender, the pic doesn't show but it's actually seperated i about wanted to cry

that is not just paint cracked in the pic, it's straight up bondo, i'd be missing a chunk of fender if i pulled it off..

pic of my car BEFORE rolling them..

The fronts are just a siblge layer of metal so You probably could, not sure I would do that but you could, the rears are double sided so rolling is not best, a shave is best for the rear..
