Too bad there isnt a 3.55 LSD unit out there. The revs on the hwy with the stock unit are pretty low, so a tad taller cog wouldnt kill MPG. I think for a daily driver the swap out LSD unit from Carson would be best. They're showing that unit for $899 now. Seems crazy Lexus didnt ship the GS400 with LSD from the factory. My brother's IS300 has LSD but he had to hunt for a car that had one (its a 5 speed manual).

3.76 isn't too high of a gearing at all. i have it and at 80mph the rpm is only off by 200rpm. that's nothing.

I've always thought the same thing.

Guess I was spoiled being able to shop out of the Ford SVO catalog when I had my 87' LX 5.0 ;-)

ha- I knew you were a stang/ford guy when you said 3.55. I had an 85 LX 5.0 notch with a GT-40 crate motor. I bought one of those complete rear ends too(just add axles).

I paid $525 for a FRPP 3.73 pumpkin for a Cobra and put it in my Thunderbird SuperCoupe. I wish it was that cheap for my GS.

Guys I'm going to close this thread from 2001 so we don't create a lot of confusion with an OLD OLD group buy .
